The Muskingum football team erupted for a season-high 37 points to crush Wilmington in its season-finale on Saturday afternoon in Ohio Athletic Conference play, 37-7.

  • The outing marked the final game for retiring Muskingum assistant coach Jim Kaser. Coach Kaser has been coaching at Muskingum for 18 years. Overall, Coach Kaser has been coaching football for the past five decades and has mentored, coached and taught life skills to thousands of student-athletes.

  • The Muskies finished the year with an overall mark of 4-6 and conference record of 3-6, which marked Muskingum's best finish since 2011.

  • Muskie senior punter Samuel Green ended his tenure ranked first all-time at Muskingum in career punting average with a 40.4 yards per punt average. Green beat the mark held by Rick Harbold of 39.2 (1964-67).
  • Muskie senior linebacker Chaney Fulton ended his career ranked third all-time in career tackles with 355. He also ranked ninth all-time in career sacks with 12.5.
  • Muskies senior quarterback Griffin Degener passed for 1,488 yards this season, which ranks fifth all-time for a single season at Muskingum. Furthermore, Degener amassed 1,681 yards of total offense (1,488 passing/193 rushing) to end his tenure ranked seventh all-time for a single season.

  • After trailing 7-0 in the first quarter, Muskingum scored the final 37 points of the contest to secure the road win.
  • Senior running back Jordan Scanlon rumbled for 38 yards and two touchdowns.
  • Senior linebacker Chaney Fulton returned an interception 30 yards for a touchdown and notched a team-best 10 stops.
  • Senior quarterback Griffin Degener passed for 115 yards and two touchdowns on 10-of-18 passing.
  • Sophomore receiver Darius Hayes-Carruth hauled in five passes for 55 yards and one score.
