Football erupts for a season-high 49 points en route to Senior Day victory

The Muskingum football team erupted for a season-high 49 points en route to a Senior Day victory against Ohio Athletic Conference foe Wilmington on Saturday in McConagha Stadium, 49-35.

How It Happened

  • With Wilmington driving for the go-ahead score in the waning seconds of the first half, freshman defensive back Henry Alexander III intercepted Luke Creditt's pass and raced 98 yards for a touchdown to change the complexion of the game and give the Muskies a 35-26 lead at the break.
  • Senior defensive back Dorian Maynard sealed the win with a 45 yard interception return for a touchdown with 7:59 to play. The touchdown completed the scoring.
  • Williams ended the game passing for 92 yards and two scores on 4-of-6 passing with one interception. He also added 84 yards rushing with one touchdown. Williams ends his tenure ranked sixth all-time in total offense with 3,549 yards and seventh in career passing with 2,538 yards.
  • Freshman Nick Asturi led the ground game rushing for a career-high 150 yards on 26 totes. He averaged 5.8 yards per carry.

  • Justin Lee led the Quaker receivers with 14 receptions for 273 yards and two touchdowns.

  • Eric Flynn Jr. rushed for 72 yards on 16 carries.
