Taylor and Crawford named ECAC Players of the Year

Muskingum esports sophomore Kesten Taylor and sophomore Doug Crawford were honored for their outstanding play this year by being named Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Players of the Year.

Taylor, who helped lead the Muskie Fortnite duo to a National Championship by winning three of the last four maps on the season, was named the ECAC Player of the Year for the Spring 2021 campaign.

Crawford was named the ECAC Player of the Year in Madden after capturing the National Championship. After trailing 1-0 in the best of three series against Lakeland, Crawford erased a pair of game two deficits to win the contest and kicked a game-winning field goal in game three as time expired to claim the National Championship.

The two National Championships were the first in the program history and were the crescendo on a spectacular year for the esports program. The Muskies won over 100 games, including victories over Division 1 opponents Florida State, TCU, and Akron.
