Krupar named Muskingum Baseball Head Coach

The Muskingum University Athletic Department has named Jake Krupar Muskingum Baseball Head Coach.

Krupar arrives back in New Concord after one season as an assistant coach for the Butler University baseball program. At Butler, Krupar coached the outfielders and was the baserunning coordinator and assistant hitting coach. He was the first base coach during games and directed Butler's youth camp initiatives. Furthermore, Krupar was responsible for game day management, recruiting, community service efforts, and fundraising.

"After completing an extremely competitive national search, it brings me great joy to see Jake come back to Muskingum to lead our program," said Muskingum Director of Athletics Kari Winters. "I am looking forward to him building relationships with the current men of Muskie baseball as he also begins recruiting for the future. The OAC is the premier baseball conference in Division III, and we are confident in Jake's vision to lead our squad into the future."

Before Butler, Krupar was the director of player development at Wofford College. He helped lead the team to its first-ever regular season Southern Conference Championship. The Terriers won 36 games, including a school record of 21 wins in conference play. Additionally, Krupar was responsible for implementing the Synergy video system and assisting the coaching staff with statistical analysis and player development.

"First and foremost, I want to thank President Hasseler and Director of Athletics Kari Winters for the opportunity to come back to Muskingum and to lead this program," said Krupar. "I am excited to build and lead the Muskie baseball program to new heights by guiding our student-athletes to be the best possible versions of themselves that they can be on a daily basis. I look forward to building relationships with current and future players, administrators, and alumni. I am ecstatic about the opportunity to return to New Concord and am ready for the challenges ahead. Go Muskies!"

Before Wofford, Krupar spent two seasons on the Muskingum baseball staff as an assistant coach. He was responsible for coaching the Muskie batters and outfielders while also serving as the recruiting coordinator. Krupar was Muskingum's head JV coach and strength and conditioning coordinator and developed the social media presence for the Muskie baseball program.

Before arriving at Muskingum, Krupar served as an assistant coach at Baldwin Wallace University. While with the Yellow Jackets, he worked with multiple All-OAC players as the team won the conference tournament and advanced to the NCAA Regional. He assisted in practices, recruiting, and coached the JV team. His duties also included coaching outfielders and assisting with hitters, camps, and video coordination.

Furthermore, Krupar worked as an assistant coach with the Stark County Terriers collegiate baseball team in the summer of 2017.

Before coaching, Krupar was a four-year letterwinner for the University of Toledo baseball program. He helped lead the Rockets to the Mid-American Conference (MAC) Tournament for three straight years and earned Academic All-MAC honors in 2017 and the Scholar Baller Award from 2014-2017.

A native of East Sparta, Ohio, Krupar graduated from Toledo in 2017 with a B.S. in criminal justice and completed his master's degree in education at Muskingum in 2020.
