Baseball dominates Pitt.-Greensburg

The Muskingum baseball team put together a dominated 25-4 performance to defeat Pitt.-Greensburg on Thursday night.

The Basics

  • Records: Muskingum (9-5 Overall), Pitt.-Greensburg (0-13 Overall)
  • Location: Bobcat Park – Greensburg, Penn.
  • Attendance: 50

The Difference

  • After both teams failed to plate a run in the first inning, Muskingum erupted for nine runs in the second. Sophomore Nate Keiser got the scoring started with a two RBI double, and senior Trey also recorded his first triple of the season in the inning as well.
  • Muskingum got the offense going again in the eighth inning, plating eight more runs to extend their lead to 17-2.
  • The Muskies added another run in the fifth inning off a double from junior Allex Santacroce that scored Yoder.
  • Muskingum scored six more runs in the eighth inning, and another urn in the ninth to secure their 25-4 win.

Inside the Numbers

  • The Muskies were led by sophomore Nate Keiser who finished 3-for-4 with 5 RBIs, two runs scored, and one double.
  • Junior Allex Sanatacroce also went 3-for-4 with five RBIs, two runs scored, two doubles, and a walk.
  • Senior Chayce Lundell finished 3-for-5 with two runs scored; and freshman Tobie Teke went 3-for-8 with four RBIs, three runs scored, and a double.
  • Junior Devin Ryan batted 2-for-5 on the night. His stat line also included three RBIs, two runs scored, and a double.
  • Junior Dominic Gorence went 2-for-5 with three runs scored, an RBI, and a stolen base.
  • Sophomore Gavin Hawk also earned two hits on the night. Hawk recorded one double and one run scored as well.
  • Senior Trey Yoder, junior Drew Dittoe, freshman Noah Blecha, freshman Wyatt Reeder, and freshman Brice Shaub all recorded one hit for the Muskies as well.
  • Freshman Noah Moser picked up second win on the mound this season after pitching eight innings and giving up four earned runs. Moser struck out five batters for the Muskies.
  • Senior Drew Eaches pitched one inning in relief, giving up one hit and striking out two batters.

Up Next

  • The Muskies will be back in action on Saturday, March 26, when they open OAC play against John Carroll. Game one of the doubleheader is slated for 1:00 p.m. at Mose Moorehead Field.
