The 19th-ranked Denison baseball team hit past Muskingum on Wednesday afternoon, 16-1. The contest marked the home opener for the Muskies.

  • The contest featured Muskingum Head Coach Gregg Thompson facing his son, Gavin, for the first time on an opposing team. Gavin, a freshman on the Big Red, collected his first career hit (double) and RBI.

  • Muskingum senior Holden Martin started the game and tossed two innings and allowed two runs (one earned) on three hits with one strikeout.
  • Muskie sophomore Brett Carson, the reigning Ohio Athletic Conference Hitter of the Week, went 2-for-4 at the plate.
  • Junior Zack Kozerski went 2-for-4 for the Muskies with a double.
