The Muskingum baseball team celebrated Senior Day in its season finale against Ohio Athletic Conference foe Otterbein on Sunday afternoon. The Muskies dropped the opener 14-3 and fell in the nightcap, 12-1.

The Basics 

• Records: Muskingum (15-23 overall, 5-13 OAC), Otterbein (28-12 overall, 11-7 OAC)
• Location: New Concord, Ohio - Mose Morehead Field 
• Weather: Overcast and 50 degrees.

Senior Salute

• Prior to the twinbill, Muskingum recognized seniors Dallas Allen, Matt Lynn, Brandon Bush, Joe Shumar, A.J. Kazmierczak, Austin DeVore and Zach Hemenway.

Game One

• Muskingum scored three runs on four hits.
• DeVore led the Muskies going 2-for-4 with a run scored and one RBI.
• Allen went 1-for-3 at the dish with a run scored, one RBI and a home run.
• Bush tallied the loss on the mound pitching five complete innings allowing eight runs on nine hits.
• Connor Brett led the Cardinal attack going 4-for-5 at the plate with two RBI's and two runs scored.
• On the mound, Craig Prince captured the win pitching six innings surrendering two hits.
• Otterbein scored 14 runs on 17 hits.
• The Muskies scored their first run in the bottom of the fifth inning as Allen homered to left center cutting the deficit to 8-1.
• The Cardinals got the run back in the top of the sixth inning and tacked on one run in the seventh inning and four in the ninth inning to extend their lead, 14-1.
• Muskingum looked to rally in the bottom of the ninth inning scoring two runs on four hits before Caleb Norton retired the side. 

Game Two

• Sophomore Nate Mejia finished the game with one RBI, while junior Eddie Harper went 2-for-4 with a run scored to lead the Muskie offense.
• As a team, Muskingum scored one run on five hits.
• Sophomore Evan Hinds took the loss on the mound allowing seven runs on seven hits.
• Otterbein scored 12 runs on 12 hits.
• Pat Birrer led the Cardinals at the plate going 3-for-5 with four RBI's and two runs scored.
• Johnny Putnam claimed the win pitching 1.1 innings with three strike outs.
• The Muskie bright spot came in the bottom of the fifth inning as Mejia was hit by a pitch, scoring Harper.
• The Cardinals blew the game wide open scoring five runs in the top of the eighth inning en route to the win.
