Muskies fall to 25th-ranked Denison in non-conference action

The Muskingum baseball team dropped a non-conference match-up against Denison on Thursday afternoon, 8-2.

The Basics

  • The Muskies plated two runs on five hits.
  • Muskingum was led at the plate by junior Eddie Harper going 2-for-4.
  • Sophomore Nate Mejia recorded a RBI in the contest.
  • Freshman Bryce Husted dealt the loss for Muskingum surrendering four runs.
  • Denison was led at the dish by Grady Paine going 1-for-4 with two RBI's.
  • On the mound, John Troll claimed the win pitching two scoreless innings.
  • The Big Red jumped out to the early 4-0 lead in the top of the first inning.
  • Denison tacked on another run in the second before Muskingum was able to plate its first run following a RBI by Mejia, 5-1.
  • The Muskies pushed their final run across the plate in the bottom of the sixth inning to cut the deficit, 7-2.
  • Denison scored the game's final run in the top of the ninth en route to the win.
