Muskingum to honor three OAC Championship teams at M-Club Breakfast

The Muskingum University athletic department will honor three Ohio Athletic Conference Championship teams at the M-Club Breakfast on Saturday, October 20, during Homecoming weekend.

The event will recognize the 1978 men's golf team, the 1988 men's basketball team, and the 1998 softball team. The M-Club Breakfast will be hosted in the Anne C. Steele Center starting at 8:30 a.m. The teams will also be recognized during halftime of the Muskingum vs. Otterbein football game. 

The 1978 men's golf team won the OAC Championship and advanced to the NCAA Tournament. 

The 1988 men's basketball team locked in a 21-9 overall record and were 12-4 in the OAC. The Muskies captured the OAC Championship in a thrilling 46-45 victory over Ohio Northern and then advanced to the NCAA Tournament.

In 1998, the softball team ended the season 38-14 overall and 14-4 in the OAC. The Muskies notched the OAC Championship by beating Mount Union, 5-2. Muskingum continued its stellar play by finishing fourth in the NCAA Tournament.  

Muskingum's annual Athletic Hall of Fame inductions will be held on Saturday, February 9.
