Green and Fobes named SAAC Muskies of the Month

The Muskingum Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) has announced that football senior punter Samuel Green and cross country senior Julie Fobes have been named the SAAC Muskies of the Month for October.

Green leads the Ohio Athletic Conference in punting average and ranks 18th in NCAA Division III averaging 41.1 yards per punt. On the season, Green has 44 punts for 1,807yards and has placed 12 punts inside the 20. His long punt on the year is 53 yards.

Fobes led the women's cross country team at the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships with a 15th-place finish to earn All-OAC honors. Earlier this season, Fobes set the school record in the 6K and has led the Muskies in every meet this year.

SAAC Muskies of the Month nominees are nominated by Muskingum coaches and voted on by SAAC representatives from Muskingum's 21 varsity sports.

The mission of SAAC is to enhance the total student-athlete experience by promoting opportunity and communication between the student-athletes and athletics administration, protecting student-athlete welfare, and fostering a positive student-athlete image on campus and in the New Concord community. SAAC representatives have dedicated themselves to helping and promoting their fellow student-athletes, Muskingum and the community. Their efforts have helped to enhance a tradition of involvement by Muskingum student-athletes.
