Barry and Dickey honored with SAAC award

The Muskingum Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) has announced that football senior linebacker Zach Barry and women's soccer senior defender Hailey Dickey have been named the SAAC Muskies of the Month for September.

Barry led the Muskingum defense in total tackles and ranked second in the Ohio Athletic Conference in tackles averaging 12.3 stops per game. He was also tied for first in the league in fumble recoveries with one. Barry was named the Muskie Defensive Player of the Game in two of Muskingum’s three contests.

Dickey led the Muskies with three goals, while anchoring the backline. She peppered 20 shots and registered one game-winning strike. Dickey helped lead the Muskies to a first-place finish at the Scarlet Hawk Classic in Chicago with a 1-0-1 mark. Following the tournament, Dickey was named to the all-tournament team.

SAAC Muskies of the Month nominees are nominated by Muskingum coaches and voted on by SAAC representatives from Muskingum's 21 varsity sports.

The mission of SAAC is to enhance the total student-athlete experience by promoting opportunity and communication between the student-athletes and athletics administration, protecting student-athlete welfare, and fostering a positive student-athlete image on campus and in the New Concord community. SAAC representatives have dedicated themselves to helping and promoting their fellow student-athletes, Muskingum and the community. Their efforts have helped to enhance a tradition of involvement by Muskingum student-athletes.
